The Mansion and Joël Robuchon at the MGM Grand

Chef of the Century?! That sounds bigger than a Nobel Prize. And suitably fitting for award-winning chef in the newest restaurant at the biggest hotel in Las Vegas. The MGM Grand has a new restaurant epitomizing haute cuisine. The Mansion, designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon, who is known for decorating The Four Seasons George V in Paris and the St. James Hotel in London, has taken the MGM Grand to heights in the restaurant world by capturing Chef Joël Robuchon. Robuchon was honored with “Chef of the Century” by the Guide Gault Millau, and had been saught after for many years to open a restaurant in the United States.

You enter the restaurant through a foyer with a dramatic crystal chandelier. Inside the dining room there is a 17-foot ceiling and an amazing view of the indoor terrace. There are five main rooms with private rooms, and an indoor garden room.

Some of the dishes you’ll find at the Maison include La Noix de Saint-Jacques, fresh scallop cooked in its shell with a lemon and seaweed butter, Le Homard de Bretagne, Brittany lobster under a disappearing saffron hostie in a seafood bouillon and La Semoule de Blé Dur, confit of lamb with a Mediterranean flavored semolina wheat couscous.
