Sept. 17, 2005: Marco Antonio VS. Robbie Peden

This championship fight is part of the “Parade of Champions” and will be telecast live on HBO Pay-Per-View from the MGM Grand Garden Arena. See WBC Super Featherweight champion Marco Antonio Barrera take on IBF champion Robbie “The Bomber” Peden in a 12 round showdown. Barrera, “The Baby Faced Assassin,” hails from Iztacalco, Mexico and is noted as the finest featherweight to come from Mexico since Salvador Sanchez. He holds the record of 60-4, with 42 KOs. Peden comes from Brisbane, Australia and is only the second Australian Aboriginal world boxing champion in 34 years. His record is 25-2, 14 KOs. The two fighters are long time rivals.

You will also see three division world champion “Sugar” Shane Mosley continue his march back to the welterweight championship when he faces unbeaten Jose Luis Cruz in the co-feature bout scheduled for 10 rounds.
