CineVegas Sneak Previews ‘A Prairie Home Companion’

The official start of this year’s CineVegas Film Festival isn’t until June 9, but the organizers are getting a bit of an early start with a sneak preview of Robert Altman’s upcoming much-talked-about film, A Prairie Home Companion.

The event takes place in MonteLago Village at Lake Las Vegas on May 20. The band Sante Fe will get things rolling with a live performance at 5:30 p.m., followed by an invite-only reception at Bistro Zinc at 6:30 p.m.

At 8:00 p.m., CineVegas will screen its trailer for the first time, followed by the movie screening at 8:30 p.m. The event is free to the public — even the parking is free.

The film is a star-studded adaptation of Garrison Keillor’s popular radio show featuring such diverse talent as Meryl Streep, Lily Tomlin, Maya Rudolph and Lindsay Lohan. No word if any of the stars will actually be present for the film which isn’t in theaters until June 9.
