First Annual Jazz Festival To Be Held In Mt. Charleston
The beautiful Mt Charleston Hotel is expanding their weekly “Sax Sunday” offering into a full-blown three-day festival. The Mt. Charleston Jazz Festival brings together world-class jazz artists with local art exhibitions and wine tastings, starting on June 30.
Opening day features a wine tasting dinner sponsored by Rock ‘n Roll Wine, starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $44 for the event.
Saturday, July 1, features two main events. The first is a Highway Patrol wine tasting to benefit the Special Olympics. Tickets are $15. This leads into a charity gala featuring a performance by the Marty Mahoney Band at 7p.m. Tickets are $500 a plate with half of that going to local charities.
Sunday, July 2, the festival winds up with an all-star jazz concert, featuring Skip Martin of Kool & the Gang, Fattburger, Drumjungle, Marty Mahoney Band, Larry White and more. The music runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and tickets are $44.
Throughout the festival, attendees can also indulge in an art exhibition, a restaurant exhibition and children’s entertainment, all of which are free.
The hotel has just finished a year of upgrades and renovations, and is offering specially priced hotel packages for those who wish to stay overnight.
