Keno Lingo: Where to Play

“Lounge” Keno is not played in a Keno ‘arena,’ nor in a Keno ‘room.’ The room where Keno is played in a casino is called the Keno lounge, a term perfect for the relaxed, practically comatose environment of Keno.

In some Keno rooms (especially in older casinos) you will see a game of Keno referred to as a ‘race.’ This term is held over from the days when Keno was known as “horse race Keno.” This could also be because there was always a race to the Keno desk after each game, as winning tickets were void at the beginning of the next game. (A note of caution: Some casinos still use this rule!)
