Planet Hollywood Bets Gamblers Will Like New Design
With a name like the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, it stands to reason that the gaming areas of the resort would undergo a huge transformation in the changeover from the Aladdin.
In new photos released during last week’s press conference with company co-chairman Robert Earl, it can plainly be seen that nothing remains from the Aladdin decor. The resort’s entire casino floor has been completely redesigned, with a high-tech retro-chic theme.
Huge floor-to-ceiling light columns illuminate the gaming areas as over 250 high definition plasma screens surround the action, placed high up on the walls. The color scheme is warm, with browns and deep reds.
The newly opened poker room is spacious, with a brown and beige color scheme. The lower ceiling, compared to the rest of the gaming areas, gives it a bit of a conference room feel, but I’m sure it’s designed to help dampen the noise from nearby tables.
In keeping with the “Hollywood” part of the name, Earl said that opening this summer will be the state-of-the-art Pink’s Race and Sports Book Lounge serving the authentic hot dog menu from LA’s legendary Pink’s Hot Dog stand.
