10 Great Photo Spots in Las Vegas

Make your own post cards! Whether you’re caught up in the scrapbook craze, or just want to remember a fun trip—here are ten photo suggestions to get you started.

10. The Welcome to Las Vegas sign. The obvious. Everyone wants to have their picture taken next to this fabulous Vegas icon. But where is it? It’s on the South end of Las Vegas Blvd, way past Mandalay Bay. Just keep going until you see it. It’s located on the median all by itself—you can’t miss it.

9. The Mirage Volcano. Vegas Virgins love the volcano, and it makes for a GREAT photo. The volcano goes off every fifteen minutes so you won’t have to wait long for the next show. The way it spouts hot fiery flames over and over make getting a red sexy picture pretty easy. Take a different approach and get a shot from the casino/lobby side (as shown).

8. The Luxor Sphinx. Day or night, the Sphinx in front of the Luxor’s glassy black pyramid is proof that Las Vegas is out there. Way more bizarre than any out of the way city, country, or planet you’ve come from. And the palm trees add a nice touch.

7. Lenin at Red Square. There is a large headless statue of Lenin next to Red Square in Mandalay Bay. It’s funny looking and catches your eye when walking through the side of the hotel between Rumjungle and the casino.

6. Eiffel Tower. Take the elevator 460 feet up above the Strip for a great vantage point. This is a 360∞ panoramic view of Glitter Gulch from Paris at the Four Corners. You’ve got the Bellagio fountains on one side, and the eastern mountains on the other. If you don’t mind paying the $9-$12 to get up there (less for seniors), go for it! It’s open 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m. daily depending on weather.

5. Forum Shoppes at Caesars Palace. Everyone loves getting their picture taken with the statues on the fountains inside the Forum Shoppes at Caesars. I’m not sure why. I’d much rather get mine taken with the hunky toga-clad Julius Caesar just inside the casino near the inner Forum Shoppe entrance.

4. Wynn Las Vegas. The new kid on the block is very photo-genic. When taking a picture of Wynn from the outside, I like to get the afternoon light when the glass is glowing copper. Earlier in the day the yellow lines on the building are not as attractive. Inside Wynn, the floral walk near the lobby is nice. The pool is even nicer if you’re staying there as a guest.

3. Fremont Street Experience. I think the photo opps on Fremont Street are endless. There’s the vintage neon signs like Vic and the horseman, the bright turquoise Binion’s hotel sign stretching the side of the building, brides and grooms of all shapes and outfits, and the old school Vegas dancers and muscle men that stand ready for picture taking.

2. Bellagio Fountains. Everyone gets nearly the same photo when they’re standing on the Strip in front of the fountain show. But if you want a different perspective, go inside the Belaggio and into the Fontana Bar. They have a patio that overlooks the fountains from the opposite side with Paris and the Strip in the background. It’s even more romantic.

1. The Strip at Night from the Foundation Room. My favorite view of the Strip is from the patio at the Top of Mandalay Bay. Normally the Foundation Room is a members only club, but Monday nights it’s anyone’s party for a $20 cover. The view is well worth it. Hours are midnight – 5:00 a.m.
