Academy of Country Music Awards Air Live From MGM Grand

If it seems like Vegas has gone country this week, it’s with good reason. The 41st annual Academy of Country Music Awards are being held at the MGM Grand on May 23 and for the fourth year will be broadcast live from The Strip on CBS.

The event will be hosted by country music legend Reba McEntire, who has a few of the ACM awards already at home. There will also be live performances during the show by Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood, Big & Rich and Kenny Chesney.

Sure you can just watch the whole thing on tv, but it’s more fun to actually be there. Even this close to the event, there are still decent seats in the upper levels left for purchase. Two things to beware of, though. First, since this is being broadcast live to the east coast, the event starts at 5 p.m., and you must be seated by 4:30 p.m.  Secondly, since it’s televised, they are requesting semi-formal to formal dress — no jeans or t-shirts will be allowed.  In other words, look good for your possible 15 seconds of airtime.
