An Evening With Jeff Beck at House of Blues

Jeff BeckSince his days with the Yardbirds, Jeff Beck has been considered one of the best guitar players in the world…and with good reason. His playing with the Yardbirds and his own The Jeff Beck Group (featuring Rod Stewart on vocals and Ron Wood on bass) helped shape the sound of rock in the late 60’s. But he wasn’t content to stay within one genre, and released several jazz-fusion albums in the late seventies.

In 1985, he won his first Grammy for the album, Flash. He won his second Grammy for 1989’s Jeff Beck’s Guitar Shop with Terry Bozzio and Tony Hymas. He tried semi-retirement after that, but it didn’t last long. He was back in the studio in 1993, and three albums later, won his third Grammy in 2001 for the album You Had It Coming.

Beck is on a rare six-date tour of the west coast and one of the shows will be at the House of Blues at the beginning of April. The setlist will cover the entire spectrum of his career, and for the first time in many years, he’ll be accompanied by a guest vocalist, the wonderful Beth Hart. There will be no opening act, so arrive promptly for this 21-and-over show.
