Liza Minelli Returns to Vegas To Headline at the Luxor
After a lengthy hiatus, the fabulous Liza with a “Z” is returning to Las Vegas for a headlining gig at The Luxor. There is no word as to when the concerts will take place, or how long she will headline.
This week, “The Strip” co-hosts Steve Friess (USA Today and Newsweek contributor) and Miles Smith (NBC producer) revealed in their weekly internet podcast show that a “high-ranking official” at MGM Mirage told them that Minelli has been signed as part of an “eclectic” rotation of performers to fill in at the theater recently vacated by “Hairspray.” This list is also rumoured to include Julio Iglesias, Tony Bennett and Engelbert Humperdinck.
These guest headliners will occupy the theater until it is time to start production on Cirque du Soliel’s next project, a “magic show”-themed production, which will be the company’s sixth show in Las Vegas.
