Nelly Furtado to Groove the Red Rock Resort

Popstar Nelly Furtado has been red hot on the charts for the last year, and on June 23, she’s going to bring that heat to the Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa, when she performs poolside at the Sandbar.

The Canadian songstress released her first cd, Whoa, Nelly! to critical acclaim. The album melded Portuguese and Brazilian styles with folky pop and the sound worked well with many radio station formats, increasing her popularity. It’s single, “Like a Bird” was a huge hit and earned her many award nominations.

Last Summer, Furtado returned with her third cd, Loose, but the new cd showed a different side of the singer. Produced by Timbaland, the album was full of dance beats and the first single, “Promiscuous,” soared to the top of the charts. Every single off the cd since has also been a smash hit, so the setlist at Red Rock is sure to get the crowd dancing.
