Queen + Paul Rodgers at MGM Grand

Queen + Paul RodgersRock royalty descends upon the MGM Grand when Queen, with vocalist Paul Rodgers, hits the stage on April 7.

The British rock group formed in 1971 and the rest would be musical history. Led by Freddie Mercury’s strong, unique voice, the band forged new ground by blending rock with four-part vocal harmonies. For almost twenty years, Queen hit the top of the charts with songs like “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Will Rock You,” “We Are the Champions” and “Another One Bites the Dust.”

In November of 1991, Mercury’s voice was silenced forever by AIDS. The remaining members of Queen forged on a few years later, completing the album the band had been working on at the time of Mercury’s death. In 2001, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in 2002, the band received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Two years later, Queen was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame.

Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor have chosen former Free/Bad Company singer Paul Rodgers to join them on this tour. Rodgers is no stranger to the charts, having sung on such songs as “Bad Company,” “All Right Now” and “Feel Like Makin’ Love.” The set list on this tour blends classic Queen hits with select hits from Rodger’s past.

Can Rodgers handle the songs that Mercury made famous? Find out yourself when the tour hits town this week.
