2007 James Beard Award Winners Announced
Last month, we announced that several of the nominees in this year’s James Beard Awards had ties to the Las Vegas culinary scene and over this last weekend, the awards were presented.
So how did they fare? When the final award was given out, only two out of the winners have a Vegas presence, but that’s still really good considering the high level of competition.
Chef Thomas Keller (pictured left), who counts The Venetian’s Bouchon as one of his properties, walked away with the “Outstanding Restaurater” award at this year’s awards.
The other award went to New York’s L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, which was named “Best New Restaurant.” It has a delightful Vegas outpost at the MGM Grand.
With all of the new eateries hitting Vegas this year, I can’t wait to see how many get nominations in next year’s awards. At any rate, it’s the Vegas diners who are the true winners by all of this quality…so get out there and enjoy!
