Vegas Dining News for November 26, 2007

A few short bits of Las Vegas dining news this week, for those of you who like to eat your way around town:

  • Company American BistroCompany American Bistro is now open at the Luxor. The restaurant, which counts celebrities Nick Lachey, Nicky Hilton and actor Wilmer Valderrama as investors, opened on November 16th, but will hold its grand opening bash this Friday (November 30), with an after-party at LAX, also at the Luxor. The 10,000-square-feet restaurant is open for dinner and late bites, from 5pm until “late” (their term). The adjacent lounge will be open from 3pm until 4am (except Tuesdays when it closes at midnight). For reservations, call 702.262.4852 or reserve online at www.companylv.com/reservations.
  • Simon Kitchen & Bar will be closing this month at the Hard Rock hotel, as namesake owner Kerry Simon heads to the Luxor to open his new restaurant, CatHouse. This new eatery will be open for dinner from 5pm until 11pm daily, with the “loungerie” (the lounge) open from 11pm to 4am Thursdays through Sundays. The CatHouse will have its grand opening party on December 29. Simon will also be opening a restaurant at the Palms Place tower at the Palms, called Simon at Palms Place, and it will offer sushi, steak, and seafood.
  • Koi has opened at Planet Hollywood. The Vegas outpost of the popular LA eatery drew in a huge celeb crowd for its grand opening celebration, and people are just raving about its Japanese dishes fused with California style. The Asian design utilizing copper, gold, dark woods, marble and mirrors is equally impressive. A full review to come soon.
  • Rocker Vince Neil is reportedly opening a new eatery here in Vegas. The Vince Neil Tres Rios Cantina, named after his line of tequila, will be located at Caesars Palace. His tattoo shop, Vince Neil Ink, is located across the street at O’Shea’s. No word on any projected opening date, but I’m sure it’ll serve plenty of Neil’s tequila.
  • Ellis Island reports they have begun selling their holiday egg nog for $4 a glass or $29.95 per bottle. It does include alcohol and is available at all of the property’s bars.
  • Bellagio is closing Shintaro, the resort’s Japanese and sushi fine dining restaurant, in the near future. The restaurant’s space will reportedly be occupied by another Japanese and sushi dining option to be operated by the Light Group.
