Making Sure the Kids Have Fun in Las Vegas
Friends of mine are taking their kids to Las Vegas for Spring Break. They were already booked to stay at the Luxor, and basically wanted three or four days of affordable fun in the sun. The daughter is 13, and their son is seven. Here are a few activities I suggested they check out:
Teenage girls: Girls love to shop, shop, shop. Obviously she’d love the Fashion Show Mall and the Las Vegas Premium Outlets. But because the men in the family hate shopping, I thought The Forum Shops at Caesars would be a better fit for everyone. Katie will beg for an advanced birthday present at Juicy Couture, and Matt will do his shopping at Houdini’s Magic Store. My bet is that they go to Planet Hollywood for lunch.
Active boys: The Adventuredome says it all. All five acres of the theme park are indoors so nobody has to worry about how hot or cold it is outside.
They already had plans to go see the Blue Man Group, but if they hadn’t, I would have pointed them to Las Vegas Kids, which has a list of kid-friendly shows . Other family friendly activities I recommended include the Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat, the shark reef at Mandalay Bay and M&M’s World.
