Nightlife at Planet Hollywood
What would a Vegas resort be without amazing nightclubs and lounges for guests to get their groove on? According to plans revealed by co-chairman Robert Earl, Planet Hollywood is taking no chances with their new resort.
Already open are two hotspot lounges, catering to the casual non-nightclub crowd.
The Extra Lounge is named after the syndicated daily entertainment news television show and will not only quench the thirsts of guests, but provide the show with its Vegas headquarters. The show will occasionally film its “60 Seconds in Sin City” segments from the lounge and celebrity guests may stop by to be interviewed. I’m told the Extra Lounge signature drink is the “Paradise on the Strip,” a concoction consisting of Tuaca, Absolut Vanilla, Butterscotch Schnapps and pineapple juice. That sounds yummy!
In the middle of the casino floor is where you’ll find the second lounge, the appropriately named Heart Bar, which will provide a nice break from the games, when you need it.
Soon to open is a third lounge, the upscale Living Room, one of three nightclubs to put down roots at Planet Hollywood from Miami Beach’s famed Opium Group. The ultra-lounge is said to have a 1940’s cigar lounge vibe with 20 seated areas open to reservations. In a few months, the Opium Group will open a Vegas outpost of their red-hot SoBe nightclub Privé, which is a huge celebrity magnet. A third club will be opened in the fall, but no details have been released as to its theme or name.
