Caesars Palace Ushers In the Year of the Pig
Today marks the Chinese New Year and Caesars Palace is partaking in celebrations to usher the year in.
Guests arriving at the resort will be welcomed by 100 strings of firecrackers and several hundred red paper lanterns with the Chinese characters for “luck” imprinted on them. Caesars Palace has also redecorated many of the common areas, such as hallways and VIP lounges, with live orchids, as well as over 1,000 China mums, 500 red azaleas and 80 tangerine and bonsai trees.
To honor 2007 as the Year of the Pig, three large pigs, with the largest at 6ft. long, will bring the luck of the zodiac to all that enter the gaming areas. I’m hoping they will be in humane pens or cages.
Later tonight, Asia’s top entertainer, Jacky Cheung, will entertain two sold out shows in The Colosseum. If you’re not one of the lucky ticket holders, Cheung will also be performing tomorrow night, with tickets still available.
If you go and happen to post any photos to your blog or Flickr space, please drop us a link to them in the comments.
