Travel + Leisure Readers Rank World’s Best
Travel + Leisure Magazine recently conducted their 11th annual poll asking readers to name their choices for the very best in travel worldwide. The poll results were released and unfortunately not one Vegas property appeared on the Top 100 in the World — but there were two that appeared on the Top 100 in the Continental U.S. and Canada.
The first Vegas appearance is at #48, with the Bellagio. Down from last year’s #34 position, the resort received a 85.89 out of 100 rating. The second hotel to make the grade with T+L readers was the Four Seasons Hotel. High atop Mandalay Bay, the hotel fell 34 places from last year’s #24 ranking, to end up at #58. Readers gave it an overal rating of 85.62.
And while Las Vegas is one of the top travel destinations in the world, readers of the magazine not only didn’t put it in the Top 10 Cities Overall, but Sin City didn’t even rate in the Top 10 Cities in the Continental U.S. and Canada.
I wonder if that’s due to the city’s “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” slogan ad campaign? Maybe people just don’t want to admit how much fun they have when they come to Vegas. What are your thoughts?
