Las Vegas Springs Preserve
The Las Vegas Springs Preserve is a 180-acre cultural and biological resource located just west of downtown, known historically as “Big Springs”. A project to restore and revive this unique area is currently underway, organized by the Las Vegas Valley Water District. When completed in 2007, the Springs will include a variety of museums, gardens, hiking trails and restored structures for use and enjoyment by the public. The cultural, environmental and historical exhibits at the Springs will showcase the rich history of the region, highlighted in this interactive timeline which profiles the different settler groups that inhabited the land over the years. A series of videos and virtual tours provide a sneak peek of all that the Springs will offer in the coming years.
