Blue Man Group at The Venetian
With shows spread from Boston to Berlin, why should you buy tickets to see Blue Man Group in Las Vegas? Like anything else in Sin City, the answer is simply because you can.
It certainly doesn’t hurt that Blue Man Group, with its creative combination of music, comedy and multimedia entertainment, flies under the radar in comparison to most other shows on the Strip but still provides a wildly entertaining, high energy performance.
If you’re unfamiliar with what Blue Man Group is, walking into the theater can feel a bit off-kilter. Before you buy, it’s important to know that Blue Man Group is a creative organization dedicated to creating excitement-generating experiences for audiences. Three men covered in blue paint entertain for nearly two hours with innovative rock music, lights, comedy and art. The performers never speak and, instead, entertain with a variety of custom-made percussion instruments, fun electronic gadgets, and light and sound. Audience participation is encouraged.
The show is quirky (where else can you see grown men stuff their mouths with marshmallows?), and it tends to be one of those performances that people either love or hate, but the vast majority choose to embrace its weirdness and like it. Though Blue Man Group has shows around the world, the theater at The Venetian—which has 1,760 seats—is one of the best, offering excellent views of the ongoing action on stage.
The G-rated show is entertaining for adults and children over three years old. Kids will enjoy the music, lights and constant action, while adults will appreciate the humor and social commentary of the show.
Blue Man Group has two performances nightly at The Venetian. Shows are at 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
