New Production to Stomp Into Planet Hollywood
As the date draws closer for the Aladdin’s transformation into the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino, new shows and productions are going to be brought into the fold. This week, a new cornerstone was added to the entertainment roster as it was announced that Stomp Out Loud will be taking up residence at the new property.
Directed and created by Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas, the people behind the award-winning show Stomp, the show is a combination of rhythm, movement and visual comedy that utilizes an urban street atmosphere along with unique percussive surfaces. But though it has the same base as the original show, Stomp Out Loud will be a production developed especially for Las Vegas audiences.
A new $28 million theater has been built at the Planet Hollywood and the show has new choreography and musical sequences. The cast is also double the size of any previous Stomp production.
“We are very excited to bring Stomp Out Loud to Las Vegas because it gives us the chance to do things with the show that we’ve always wanted to do,” said McNicholas in a released statement. “We think it’s an ideal match and look forward to showing audiences a side of Stomp that they’ve never seen before,” added Cresswell.
Stomp Out Loud will begin performances on March 24, 2007, with a grand opening slated for early April. No word on what ticket prices will be, but as the date draws closer, I’ll keep you up-to-date.
