MGM Grand Unveils New Spa Treatments
Due to the popularity of the Dreaming Ritual treatment, the Grand Spa at the MGM Grand has introduced three new “Ritual” treatments. These new treatments combine modern spa therapeutics with cultural remedies and ingredients to produce complete relaxation from head to toe. Read on and bliss out.
The “Amazon Rainforest Ritual” begins with a plantain and cocoa powder body scrub, followed by a body wrap featuring the native South American herb “Una de Gato,” used for many years to stimulate the immune system and to reduce inflammation. A foot massage and a 50-minute rhythmic massage using cocoa butter or passion flower oil ends the session, timed at 100 minutes.
The “Japanese Yuzu Ritual” utilizes the yuzu fruit, a sort of Japanese grapefruit, throughout the treatment. A yuzu body scrub starts the 100-minute session, followed by your choice of a white tea or sake body wrap (both known for their anti-oxidant properties). Finish unwinding with a Shiatsu scalp massage and a 50-minute Shiatsu-combination massage performed with yuzu body butter.
The final new treatment is the “Turkish Hammam Ritual,” which begins with a body scrub consisting of Turkish coffee grounds, brown sugar, crushed walnut husks, cinnamon and cardamom. Next, a body wrap containing coffee extract, milk proteins, aloe and seaweed, to tighten and moisturize the skin. The 100-minute ritual ends with a scalp massage and a deep pressure massage performed with orange or lavendar body butter.
All three of the new treatments are priced at $265 and include a private hot steam session and a Swiss shower. All Rituals can be enjoyed solo or as a couple, as well.
Of course, you can still opt for the Australian Aboriginal-inspired “Dreaming Ritual.” A bit longer (120 minutes) and more expensive ($295) than the newer Ritual treatments, this is the spa’s most popular signature service.
To book any of these treatments, please call the Grand Spa at 702.891.1111 or toll-free at 800.929.1111.
You can also get 15% off these treatments if you’re staying at the MGM Grand on their Maximum Escape Package.
I wouldn’t mind trying the Amazon one. How about you?
