Getting Around Las Vegas By Taxi
You might think you want to walk the Strip, but buildings on Las Vegas Boulevard are deceivingly far away from each other. In the Las Vegas desert heat, that walk can be extremely rough on your body.
One of your alternatives to walking is taking a taxi. Though not necessarily cheap, taxis are one efficient way of getting from the airport to your hotel without having to rent a car. Depending on where you need to go on the Strip, a taxi from McCarran International Airport to your Las Vegas hotel will probably run somewhere between $8.00 and $20.00. Any taxis leaving from the airport tack on an additional fee as well.
Because rates are by mile and time and not per person, depending on the time of day, you could pay significantly more to take a taxi than you would to take a bus or the monorail, but if you’d like your own space and front-door service, then this is the best option.
Taxis are not able to pick people up directly off of Las Vegas Boulevard so you’ll need to make your way to the front of any hotel or casino near the valet station to catch one.
