Intro to Race Books
The race book can be an intimidating place if you’re not familiar with the environment. Anywhere from 2 – 10 race tracks can be running at the same time on the TV screens, each of which have 9 races on their card. So, if you’re ever going to place a race book bet, make sure you know the track, the race, and the number of the horse, before you go up to the counter. Note: the actual name of the horse won’t do you any good when you place your bet if you don’t have the other information to go with it. You can find this information on the sheets available in the race book which containt the name of the track and a schedule of the day’s races.
