Ultimate Flair Bartending Competition Comes to Harrah’s

One thing that helps bartenders in Vegas stand out is a talent for flipping bottles around as they pour the drinks. This ability is known as Flair Bartending, and it was optimized by Tom Cruise in the classic film Cocktail.

This week, Harrah’s will be home to the annual international bartending competition devoted to the skill, the Ultimate Flair Bartending Championship (UFBC).

The UFBC takes place June 5th through 7th and contestants will compete in one of four divisions: professional, semi-professional, tandem or female. A total of 15 cash prizes will be given out, with the grand prize winner taking home $20,000 cash.

The event starts on Tuesday, June 5, with elimination rounds from 10am to 9pm. Semi-final rounds happen Wednesday, June 6, from 10am to 6pm. And Thursday, June 7, is the finals, which run from 8pm until midnight.

Tickets for the UFBC are $20 at the door and are available at the Harrah’s box office.
