944 Annual Blow-Out at the Hard Rock This Weekend
Looking for something exciting to do this weekend? How about a trip to the Hard Rock, where 944 Magazine is once again celebrating their anniversary with a three-day blow-out.
The shindig kicks off Friday with the Friday Night Live poolside concert with open bar co-hosted by SpyOnVegas.com. Entertainment for the evening comes courtesy of hip-hop trio De La Soul (“Me, Myself and I”) and while tickets are $20 at the door, savvy readers will hop over to the SOV website and grab a free ticket while they last.
Hip Hop not your thing? Check out Silent Armada and Alex Rossi rocking it courtesy of 820 Media from 5-8pm over at Wasted Space, motorcross superstar Carey Hart’s new place inside the Hard Rock Hotel. It’s been open for a few weeks, but this weekend is the grand opening bash. Cover charge is $25 and those brave enough will want to try the “Hart Attack” – this signature drink features Jameson, Red Bull, cranberry juice and a float of Jagermeister. You’ll definitely want to check this new rock club out.
Don’t get too wasted though, because Saturday afternoon (July 19th), your presence is requested poolside by 944 as they attempt to break the Guinness world record for the largest water pistol fight. You bring the swimsuit and they’ll supply the firepower for the 4pm attempt. Battle music will be supplied by DJ Jus Ske (Pharrell William’s DJ) and DJ Mars (NE-YO’s DJ), who will also compete in a friendly showdown presented by TYKU.
Saturday night, former Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale strikes out on his own with a show celebrating his new solo CD, Wanderlust. Tickets for his show at The Joint at the Hard Rock are $22 and $42, and are available at the Hard Rock box office or via Ticketmaster. Just a note, new security policies are in effect at The Joint, and they now prohibit any purses or bags larger than 8 1/2″ x 11″ into the venue. No cameras either.
The Hard Rock Hotel’s premiere nightclub, Body English, gets in on the party starting with their weekly Friday Night Indulge promotion, with DJ Adam 12, DJ 88 and Paul Foley joining resident DJs Melo-D and Presto One. There will also be a huge fashion giveaway for the ladies.
Saturday, expect it to get crazy at Body English with a live performance by Black Ice, featuring rappers Ice T and Black Silver, with additional tunes by DJ Quik. E! Television will also be in the house for their regular Smash Time party.
Cover both nights is $30 for men and $20 for women, but expect lines to be long, so get there early.
Sunday (July 20th), the weekly Rehab pool party will probably be more party than rehab as S.K.A.M. artists DJ Vice, Eric Cubeechee, Roktakon, Ross-One and DJ Skratchy provide the non-stop music mix all afternoon. Cover for this is also $30 for men and $20 for women.
As if that isn’t enough, M-Modern and Friends With You will be co-presenting “Crime on Canvas” for those who love pop surrealism art. Gallery hours are Friday from 6pm until midnight and Saturday from 1pm until midnight.
The only downside to the weekend is with the ongoing construction at the Hard Rock Hotel (what? stop the expansion for a party?), parking is going to be very limited in the hotel’s garage. If you can’t find a spot there, try the nearby Atrium Suites parking lot at 4255 Paradise Rd. Or just get a room for the weekend at the Hard Rock and leave your car parked.
Congrats to 944 for turning 3! Here’s to many more!
