TV Shows are Looking for Vegas Chefs
Two of television’s most popular cooking reality shows are going to be making the trek to Las Vegas this week in search of chef contestants for their upcoming seasons. Bravo’s “Top Chef” and Fox’s “Hell’s Kitchen” have had a good track record with the Vegas culinary scene, so if you think you have the chops to make the cut on either of these shows, here’s what you need to know.
Bravo will be in town tomorrow, August 5th, from noon until 4pm, casting for “Top Chef” at Restaurant Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace. I know, I’m surprised show judge Tom Colicchio isn’t holding the open call at one of his MGM Grand restaurants, too. You must be 21 or older to try out and must have the application form filled out and with you when you arrive, along with a resume and a headshot.
Then on Tuesday, August 7th, Fox will be accepting applications from those who think they can survive “Hell’s Kitchen” next season. Casting will take place at Jet Nightclub at The Mirage from 10am until 6pm and you must show up with a resume, photo and a filled out application. Contestants will have to prove during the interview process they have endurance and skills to work under chef Gordon Ramsey, because the man takes the title of the show seriously.
